Leslie T. Spalding has been a meditation and mindfulness facilitator since 2003. His wise and caring teaching methods are based on a blend of modern New Age and Eastern spiritual practices. His remarkable experience began in 1992 during his 17 year career as a professional basketball player implementing meditation, mindfulness and visualization techniques to improve his athletic performance and overall well-being.
His students are taught to connect with their own distinct inner voice that allows them to focus on the present moment and to have a more compassionate view of the world. The astonishing results achieved from this teaching method transcend time as these transformed individuals carry forward their new peaceful existence and mindful presence into society.
Since 2003, Leslie has been teaching and coaching in the independent (K thru 12) school system. As an educator of Spanish and physical education, as well as an athletics coach, he implements meditation, mindfulness, and visualization techniques for his students and athletes. He has lead multiple adult and children in workshops throughout the tri-state area.
He has been a guest facilitator for the Community Mindfulness Project in New Canaan, Connecticut and has implemented workshops at the Manhattan Neighborhood Network in Spanish Harlem. He taught meditation with “Breathe for Change” in Seattle, WA and New York, NY. He is a certified 200/hr. RYT with Yoga Alliance and a wellness facilitator. He is also the founder of the world music band Sangha Tierra and the executive director of the non-profit organization In Lak’Ech.
