Diana is the daughter of Colombian immigrants, and was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She holds a BS in Human Development from Cornell University, an MFA in Creative Writing & Literary Translation from Queens College, CUNY, and an MSW from Columbia School of Social Work. She is currently a student of the PhD Program in Social Welfare at the CUNY Graduate Center.
In addition to being a lifelong learner, Diana is the Dean of Students of Prep center anti-racism, anti-oppressive praxes, and abolition as frameworks for expanding opportunity pathways for students of color. Their hope is to reimagine schools as spaces of liberation and empowerment by centering joy, justice, engagement, and healing. When she's not teaching or studying, Diana enjoys writing poetry, painting, embroidery, and hiking with her two dogs, Archer and Logan.
